What are the benefits of smelling eucalyptus oil?

To begin with, the effect of eucalyptus oil’s scent is wonderfully unusual. It wakes you up instantly and the body feels energized, whilst you notice your mind being calm. It has positive effects on the nervous system, ultimately lowering stress levels and uplifting the mood. Using eucalyptus oil in a diffuser can also disinfect the air in your home, when a family member is ill and you want to prevent catching the bug/virus.

With strong anti-viral, antiseptic and antimicrobial properties, 1-2 drops of eucalyptus oil can go a long way. Inhaling eucalyptus essential oil may help you if you suffer from allergies caused from dust, pets, pollen, hay etc. It can help open up the airways and get rid of mucus.

The best way to do that is to use a diffuser or oil burner with a few drops of eucalyptus. You can also get a ‘quick fix’ by holding the bottle of eucalyptus essential oil carefully under your nose without letting the bottle touch the nose and inhale a few times. Fun fact: in the hot summer evenings, mosquitoes are less likely to enter your room if you have eucalyptus burning in a diffuser.
